A Temp-Cast standard core with grey and red granite cut in rectangular shapes and laid in a random ashlar pattern. The facade is built to the ceiling. A double flue chimney is to the left of the fireplace. The front wall of the chimney is at the back of the woodbox. A bench is built on the back of the fireplace. The small door to the bottom of the right side provides access to the bottom of the side channels allowing fly ash resulting form the vigorous burn The hearth is laid flush with the finish floor supported by a cantilevered extension of the concrete slab that covers the block base supporting the fireplace. The surface of the hearth, woodbox floor, mantle and rear bench are polished granite slabs of the same variety used in the walls of the fireplace. The welded steel arched door was custom made by Thermal Mass Inc. The glass dimension is 20" wide and 20" to the top of the arch.
